Maryland recruiting target Deron Williams had Gary Williams attention and it was for a good reason, the PG was in a sense calming the court with his stable transition, dynamic passes, and great defensive moves. When pressed Deron makes the right decisions, and quickly forms them into brilliant plays. If Gary Williams can latch this Ray Felton like player on it could be coup for the Terps recruiting staff! And the best thing about it..is that it could very well happen soon.

Maryland receives a commitment from Nik Cane Medly a 6'6 F from Deering(ME)High. Maryland beat out Missouri, UVA, UNConn, and Kansas.
" The left hander has a broad frame, with great speed both up and down the court. And some of the dunks which were the most exciting at the (abcd adidas)camp came from Nik. The big question surrounding Nik is his shooting range. If he can hit and get his shots from the outside, he's set to go!"

note* Maryland has already received commitments from SG Chris McCray (MD) Fairmont.
- WF Cortez Davis recently decommited but sources at Peach Jam say he's still headed to College Park.

Recruiting: You've got to admit the Maryland Terapins have had an exciting past season, overcoming a mid-season slump, to reach the final four, beating top ranked Stanford, and ex-Maryland coach Lefty Drisell's Georgia State team. Unfortunately the Terps missed an inordinately high number of wing players. But it didn't take long for them to address the problem with the Class of 2002; MD WG Chris McCray did as expected and made an early commitment, and MD BF Travis Garrison is expected to do the same to, we will keep you apost about the latest developments. Having addressed it's wing positions, Maryland now has four grants left open hopefully to the following: Torin Francis(C), NY BF Matt Gorman(who maryland has a good chance at), VA PG John Gilchrist(he had maryland and state in his final choices), NC WF J.R. Morris, NY BF Chris Sumpter, and NY C/BF Jason Fraser(also a Carolina favorite)

Coach Gary Williams get's a headlift.

Terps coach Gary williams has been given an increased salary annual annuity of an increase from 700,000 to one million dollars, reports say. The coach whose abilites helped to guide his team to the final four, hope that this will keep the now nationally recognized coach at Maryland for the remainder of his contract. He will also get incentives such as he did, receiving a bonus of 50,000 for last years final four. The incentives will be also for academic prowess in the players atop other things, the newly formatted contract will become active this, upcoming, season.

"i'm known for being a good shooter, so I just concentrate on going out there and shooting the ball." juan dixon Terrence Morris picks up a bid in the second round of the NBA Draft, congrats Terrence! #34, behind Clemson's Will Soloman, to play for the Atlanta Hawks!

Maryland Guard Juan Dixon!
Juan Dixon and Steve Blake Speak! Steve Blake:
" Everyone's really excited right now, for us, it's great to be a part of something for the University of Maryland for the first time. We're just real excited. All the hard work that everyone's put into it, from the coaches, the staff, the students, and their support, and you know, we're just real happy, everyone's excited!"- on making it to the final four

Juan Dixon:
"I guess you just have to take the three point line. We've been working all week long. you have to extend your defense. you have play out there forever. you're checking Jason Williams or Shane Battier, or the rest of the guys, you have to be ready!"-on playing the three point line
