Duke takes the courts in the third Duke-UNC matchup this
Two hours after the buzzer sounded Sunday, Cameron Indoor Stadium sat empty and silent, the floor covered with cup, food wrappers and other debris. Duke nad its fans held a party there but still the win just didn't hold the same sweet taste it always did, in fact if anything it was a bit bitter.
Last year the two played for first place in the ACC Conference in the final regular-season game. Twelve month's later, the nations most celebrated rivalry has bee reduced to a mismatch.
Now the two will play for the first time ever in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament, thanks to the Tar Heels just slipping out of Thursday night's play in the Charlotte Coliesium.
Carolina faces the probability of ending its seasons without getting by the Blue Devils once. "You have to be careful you don't just assume its going to happen," Coach k said, "and you still have to prepare just as hard."
